 Earning Their Trust Before Moving Them

The rescuer knew that rushing toward four nervous puppies could send them deeper beneath the concrete, so the approach was deliberately slow.

Food was placed nearby.

For a while, the puppies hesitated. Hunger encouraged them forward, but fear kept them close to their shelter. Eventually, one moved toward the food. Another followed, and before long, all four were cautiously eating while remaining near one another.

That small breakthrough made the rescue possible.
